A Modern Take on Shakespeare’s “Romeo + Juliet”
Inspired by the 1996 film Romeo and Juliet, directed by Baz Luhrmann, this styled wedding shoot in Chicago’s South Loop at Row24 mixes moody Renaissance vibes with ’90s industrial cool. The thoughtful details and a darkly romantic feel of the setup reflect the passion of star-crossed lovers as envisioned by Luhrmann.
At the center of this styled wedding shoot is the couple. Romeo wears a plum tux with a red rose boutonniere. Would not a rose by any other name still smell as sweet? Our Juliet wears an asymmetrical A-line wedding dress in a textured dot jacquard. Her magenta heels mirror the electric colors of the bouquet and neon sign. Like at the end of the movie, the couple lies amongst a sea of candles. However, in our story, they stand together at the end in each other’s arms in a cloud of pink. But was it all a dream?
