With the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance, Jess and Jordan said “I do” and celebrated all day with friends and family at Highland Brewing in Asheville, NC – a perfect venue for a nature and beer-loving couple. For her Asheville brewery wedding, Jess wanted a wedding dress that she felt beautiful and confident in, as well as, “bridal” and romantic while still feeling like herself.

Jess + Jordan: From a Meet-Cute to an Asheville Brewery Wedding

One summer evening in Pittsburgh, Jess sat on her front porch with friends when Jordan happened to stroll by on his way to visit fraternity friends that lived next door. Since Jordan saw some mutual friends on the porch, he decide to stop. He sat by Jess and at one point made a joke Jess didn’t hear, so he slyly asked for her number so he could text it to her. Later that night Jess and Jordan had their first date at a bar down the street, followed by a hookah bar where Jordan couldn’t quite hang and fell asleep. From there the rest was history.

Jordan and Jess went on their first camping trip 2 short weeks later. Camping quickly became one of their favorite things to do together.

Adventures Across the Country

Jordan and Jess enjoyed their fall semester at the University of Pittsburgh. After finishing his engineering degree and with a job offer in Houston, TX, they navigated a year and a half of long distance while Jess completed her occupational therapy degree and clinical rotations. Life then took them to Ohio for a brief period after Jordan changed jobs, where Jess joined him to as she studied for her boards. However, a call from his previous boss took them back to Houston for their next adventure.

For over five years, Houston was home. They filled their days with bayou bike rides, poolside gatherings with friends, the adoption of their dogs (Jax and Lulu), and eating lots of barbecue and Tex Mex. A camping adventure to Lake Livingston in September 2019 culminated in a perfect surprise proposal with their beloved pups as witnesses. The pandemic delayed wedding plans, but a subsequent move to North Carolina in 2021 ultimately allowed them to have the most perfect Asheville brewery wedding in their new home town.

Jess’s Wedding Dress Adventure

During the wedding planning in Fall of 2022, Jess tried on a few dresses at a boutique. She found that she liked parts of different dresses, but never one dress in its entirety. With this realization, Jess reached out to Edith Élan designer, Lourdes, who had made her future sister-in-law’s wedding dress the year before.

Using the pictures of the different styles Jess tried on, Lourdes combined the parts to bring to life the perfect dress for Jess for her Spring wedding. The design was everything that Jess wanted and more! It was a classic look that allowed her to feel beautiful and confident while still feeling like herself! The addition of the 3D floral lace train made Jess’s look a statement moment during the ceremony and gave her options for outfit changes throughout the day. It was perfect!

The Asheville Brewery Wedding Celebrations

Since they first met, Jess and Jordan have loved trying new beers so it made sense to them to have an Asheville brewery wedding. They chose Highland Brewing as their venue because it allowed them to have an indoor-outdoor wedding celebration.

While they looked forward to the reception and celebrating with loved ones, the ceremony on the beautiful rooftop that overlooked the Blue Ridge Mountains became a favorite moment for the couple. Their wedding date also coincided with the Kentucky Derby. For this reason, Jess and Jordan encouraged their guests to wear their best Kentucky Derby hats.

Jess walked down the aisle arm in arm with her father through a sea of color and smiling faces. She accessorized her look with a single pearl necklace gifted from her mom, pearl dangle earrings, blue shoes, and a flower clip in her hair from the florist. For their unity ceremony, Jess and Jordan chose to water a potted plant together. After exchanging rings and vows, they were showered with dried flower petals as they walked back down as husband and wife.

The Celebrations Continue

For the cocktail hour, Jess’s sister-in-law bustled her train so she could mingle with guests without the worry of someone stepping on the lace. After the cocktail hour ended, the party moved downstairs to the barrel room for the brunch reception. The room was decorated with the same vibrant colors and florals as the ceremony. Food and drink stations around the room provided guests with a variety of brunch options: mac and cheese, mimosas, coffee, ice cream, donuts, signature cocktails, fruit, and more.

With brunch over, the party continued into the afternoon at Highland Brewing’s outdoor beer garden. Still dressed in their wedding attire, the newlyweds played a game of volleyball with their guests! It was the perfect ending to a bright and beautiful day full of love and laughter.
